The Pittsfield Renys was relocated in 2023 to Somerset Avenue, near I-95. Its original location opened in 1969, in an historic brick building just two doors from the Pittsfield Community Theatre.

Part of the Kennebec Purchase, Pittsfield was settled in 1794 and had a handful of names before its 1824 christening as Pittsfield. This Somerset County town in the Moose River Valley is home to the annual Central Maine Egg Festival and the Maine Central Institute. Like many other Renys locations, this historic small town found its early success in industry and agriculture. Powered by the Sebasticook River, the Riverside Woolen Company was the first mill in Maine to sell cloth directly from loom to weaver. Pittsfield has been home to three Maine governors – Llewellyn Powers (44th), Carl Milliken (51st), and Nathaniel Mervin Haskell (62nd).

There’s plenty to do in and around Pittsfield, one of the prettiest villages in Central Maine. Enjoy walking, mountain biking or snowmobiling. Seven community parks and a nearby ski slope offer hours of outdoor fun. Pittsfield is known as a regional employment center with numerous industries still flourishing in and around town.
